Jal Sabha in Jal Jagar Maha Utsav: School children passed resolution for water and forest conservation in Gram Sabha, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai praised

With the objective of connecting people with water and community participation, a two-day Jal Jagar Maha Utsav was celebrated in Gangrel. There is also an effort to make every section of the community a part of it. Jal Sabha is a part of this effort. Jal Sabha was also organised near the dam in Ravishankar Reservoir Gangrel, located at a distance of about 14 kilometres from Dhamtari city.

On the first day, Jal Sabha was organized in the premises of Gangrel Rest House. School children participated in it with great enthusiasm. When the Chief Minister of the state Shri Vishnu Dev Sai arrived in the evening, the children performed a live Gram Sabha. The children informed about the various issues and resolutions passed for water conservation along with the various proceedings organized in the Gram Sabha.

It was also told that a drinking water and sanitation committee has been formed in the village in the Gram Sabha and Jal Vahini didis have been appointed, who inform about water and health related problems and suggestions. Action is also taken for the treatment of dirty water in their village. Hand pumps with fluoride-contaminated water have been marked in red and hand pumps with excess iron have been marked in black.

The Gram Sabha President, who was a Class XII student Falguni Sahu, told that a proposal has been passed in the Gram Sabha for repairing taps, arranging sanitation vehicles, deepening ponds and setting up a plant for rainwater harvesting. Seeing the proceedings of the Gram Sabha organized by school children, Chief Minister Shri Sai also praised their awareness towards water conservation and cleanliness.

On the second day, college students of Chhattisgarh participated in the Jal Sabha and played their respective roles. In which water conservation, environmental conservation, the role of water in human civilization and culture, crisis and future direction were discussed in the House. An attempt was made to conclude by discussing with the pros and cons that awareness should be created among the people for water conservation and environmental conservation.

Fifty college students played the role of leaders in the Jal Sabha and conducted the Jal Assembly and played the roles of Chairman, Chief Minister, Irrigation and Water Minister, Forest and Environment Minister, Health Minister, Tribal Affairs Minister, Mining and Industry Minister, Agriculture Minister, Women and Child Development Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Assembly Secretary.

In the House, emphasis was laid on community participation for water conservation by discussing the role of water in human civilization and culture, crisis and future direction. After a heated debate with the opposition members, everyone agreed to water conservation. This was a successful action of the House to give green forests, clean water and a beautiful future to the future generation.
