Governor Shri Patel attends Garba Festival of Gujarati Community
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that on Vijayadashami, Lord Shri Ram returned after vanquishing evil forces. In a similar spirit, the Navratri festival symbolizes conquering the evils within ourselves through the strength gained from nine days of worshiping Maa Ambe. He expressed his hope for great progress within the Gujarati community, emphasizing that the advancement of the community contributes to the progress of the state, which in turn leads to the progress of the nation.
Governor Shri Patel was addresssing the Navratri Mahotsav organized by the Gujarati Samaj in Bhopal on Thursday. During the event, he distributed saplings to young children under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, inaugurated the ground floor hall of Sardar Patel Bhawan, and observed the Garba performance. The event saw a large gathering of Gujarati Samaj members and local citizens.
Governor Shri Patel, while sharing his experience of attending the Garba festival in Indore, mentioned that he has also witnessed Garba performances in Bhopal. Shri Patel highlighted that he has been attending the Gujarati community’s Garba Mahotsav for the past three years. He added that the Gujarati community is invited to Raj Bhavan for Garba on the first day of Navratri and joins the Ashtami of the community. Praising the community’s cultural efforts, he commended the initiative to organize cultural programmes that instill the values of Maa Ambe’s worship and essential life values in children and youth.
