Central Government Transfers Rs 11,255 Crore to Maharashtra
A Boost to Capital Expenditure and Welfare Initiatives; Advance Installment Released for Festive Season Capital Expenditure
New Delhi, October 10: The central government has released Rs 11,255 crore to Maharashtra today as part of a tax transfer. This amount includes an advance installment aimed at covering capital expenditure during the upcoming festive season, while the rest of the funds are intended to accelerate the state’s development and welfare activities.
The central government has decided to transfer Rs 1,78,173 crore to all states, which includes an advance installment of Rs 89,086.50 crore in addition to the regular October 2024 installment. The purpose of this transfer is to support states in their capital expenditure during the festive period and to drive development and welfare programs.
Maharashtra’s share of Rs 11,255 crore will significantly boost the state’s key initiatives. Other states have also received substantial amounts, with Uttar Pradesh receiving the highest share of Rs 31,962 crore, followed by Bihar with Rs 17,921 crore, and West Bengal with Rs 13,404 crore.
This financial transfer is an important step towards promoting economic development across the states, helping them advance their capital expenditure and public welfare initiatives.
