Maximizing Benefits for Farmers by Achieving Budget Targets on Time – Agriculture Commissioner

Jaipur : Agriculture Commissioner Ms. Chinmayi Gopal visited Bharatpur to review the implementation of the budget announcements made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. During her visit, she held a meeting with block and district-level officers from the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments.

In the meeting, the Commissioner directed divisional officers to ensure the distribution of DAP and other fertilizers at prescribed rates. Any irregularities should be addressed with immediate disciplinary action, and such incidents must be reported to the Agriculture Commissionerate.

She emphasized the need for regular field inspections and the arrangement of agricultural inputs at each Panchayat Samiti to prevent any inconvenience to farmers during the sowing season. The Commissioner specifically instructed the use of super phosphate instead of DAP for mustard crops, which would improve both the quantity and quality of mustard oil.

While reviewing the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, she stressed that crop-cutting experiments should be documented through the designated app. Officers were also reminded to prioritize the Chief Minister’s budget announcements and ensure timely completion of targets across all schemes.

During the review, the Joint Director of Horticulture, Bharatpur Division, informed that as part of the 2024-25 budget announcement, a Center of Excellence for Beekeeping is proposed to be established in Bharatpur district. For this, 9.86 hectares of land has been selected and allotted through the District Collector. Additionally, under the knowledge enhancement program, 100 farmers from Rajasthan are to be sent abroad for training in Israel and other countries. Of the 8 farmers selected from Bharatpur, 12 have already been chosen based on merit.

Progress under the PM Kusum Scheme is also being monitored, with district-level officers working to meet the allotted targets of various schemes to ensure farmers receive benefits as per the state government’s plans.

The meeting was attended by the Divisional Additional Director of Agriculture, Joint Director of Horticulture, Joint Director of Agriculture, Deputy Director of Horticulture, and other district officers.
