Regional Officers Must Strictly Follow Instructions for Conducting the Voting Process at Polling Stations – District Collector Sanjay Yadav
Mumbai : In accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, voting for the 2024 Assembly General Election in Mumbai City District will take place on November 20. District Collector and Additional District Election Officer Sanjay Yadav has urged all appointed regional officers to strictly adhere to the orders and instructions for conducting the voting process at polling stations.
A training program for regional officers (zonal officers) was organized at the Anna Bhau Sathe Auditorium in Byculla. Mr. Yadav visited the venue, interacted with the trainees, and addressed their concerns.
Mr. Yadav emphasized the importance of training to ensure a smooth voting process at polling stations on the day of the election and to maintain coordination among all regional officers. He advised all officers to pay close attention during the training and thoroughly understand the election procedures at polling stations, studying them in detail.
He instructed trainees to gain a comprehensive understanding of EVMs and VVPATs, recognizing the significance of the election and following important instructions precisely during training to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. He also advised reading the materials provided by the Election Commission to gain in-depth knowledge of all aspects.
Acknowledging the importance of elections and the voting process in the democratic system, Mr. Yadav congratulated and extended his best wishes to all officers and employees participating in this democratic celebration, highlighting their dedication and commitment to democracy.
He further encouraged the trainees to openly ask their trainers any questions or concerns they may have during the training to resolve any doubts, ensuring they can perform their election duties more accurately.
During the interaction, District Collector Mr. Yadav reminded the trainees that while some employees might have prior election experience, others may be participating for the first time. He advised everyone to approach the training as if it were their first election duty, understanding all aspects and instructions carefully and implementing them strictly while performing their duties.
At the event, Nodal Officer (Training) Ajit Deshmukh provided detailed training with demonstrations on all the essential procedures required at polling stations as per the Election Commission’s directives to ensure a smooth voting process.
