Chief Minister released the book Disability: From Challenges to Opportunities
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai released a book on disability titled ‘Divyangta: Chunauton Se Aavsar Tak’ at his residence office here. This work has been co-authored by Ms. K. Sharada, Mrs. Preeti Shandilya and Dr. Abhinav Mishra.
The authors of the book told the Chief Minister that this book presents a comprehensive description of various schemes, resources and facilities being run by the Chhattisgarh Government for the welfare of Divyangjans. Apart from this, it provides information related to the process of obtaining disability certificate, needs and rights of Divyangjans. With the aim of increasing sensitivity in the society, this book also focuses on training teachers and families of Divyangjans and encouraging self-reliance. It also includes 15 inspirational stories of Divyangjans from different areas of Chhattisgarh, which exemplify their indomitable willpower, victory over challenges and extraordinary patience.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai praised the initiative taken by the authors to highlight this important issue. He hoped that this book will become a source of inspiration not only for the Divyang community but for the entire society. He also said that this book will play an important role in developing a positive attitude towards Divyangjan in the society and improving their lives.
It is noteworthy that the authors of this book, Ms. K. Sharda and Mrs. Preeti Shandilya are teachers in government schools, while Dr. Abhinav Mishra is a journalist. Ms. K. Sharda of Durg district, who is also a Divyang herself, has recently been awarded the National Teacher Award 2024 by the President of India. Mrs. Preeti Shandilya, a government school teacher of Dhamtari district has been selected for the Governor’s Award 2024. At the same time, Dr. Abhinav Mishra has been praised by the Chhattisgarh government for his work in the field of English journalism. Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap and Mr. Shantanu Sinha were also present on the occasion of the book release.
