About 15,000 children are being introduced to India’s historical sites through educational tours

Lucknow : In a pioneering initiative for the holistic development of Council school students, the Yogi government has launched a one-day educational tour to introduce 15,000 children from all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh to India’s rich history, fostering a sense of pride and cultural awareness.

The one-day educational tour of significant historical sites gives children a unique opportunity to connect with the country’s past while enriching their learning experience.

Under this program, 200 children from each district have been included, primarily from rural and urban Council schools, belonging to poor and economically backward families.

Under this initiative, the state government is spending Rs 75 lakh, which covers travel expenses, arrangements for snacks and meals, as well as budgetary allocations for emergencies.

The objective is to provide students with practical and historical knowledge beyond their regular academic curriculum, allowing them to not only visit India’s heritage and historical sites but also understand their significance and draw inspiration from them.

This educational tour, which began on September 24, is being organized with the highest priority given to the safety of the children. For every group of 20 students, a teacher has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring their safety, while also providing them with knowledge about the historical sites during the tour.

A total of 10 teachers from each district are participating in this program. These teachers are also tasked with raising awareness among the children about India’s history, culture, and heritage during the tour.

Additionally, District Basic Shiksha Adhikari and other relevant officials have been entrusted with overseeing and ensuring the smooth execution of the program, ensuring that the children face no difficulties during the trip.

All necessary administrative and security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the children, along with providing essential information and support throughout the journey.

The primary goal of this initiative by the government is to provide children with educational experiences beyond their regular curriculum, exposing them to the real world. An important aspect of this plan is to acquaint students with India’s rich heritage and glorious history.

During the tour, students visit various historical sites, monuments, and museums, where they receive detailed information about the significance of these places, the circumstances during their construction, and the historical facts associated with them.

The initiative aims not only kindle interest in history among the children, but also strengthen their sense of patriotism and love for the nation.

Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh stated that the government believes such programs not only enhance children’s academic knowledge, but also contribute to their overall personality development.

Educational tours like these expand children’s thinking and comprehension skills, allowing them to step outside their immediate environment and gain knowledge about the real world.

“This exposure plays a crucial role in fostering their mental growth and creativity. Experiences like these are vital for children, as they positively influence their decision-making abilities and broaden their perspective, which will benefit them in the future”, he further added.
