46 Candidates Selected in UPSC, 121 Officers Made Through UPPCS Under Abhyudaya Scheme

Lucknow : The ‘Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana,’ launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has proven to be a boon for economically disadvantaged and underprivileged students in the state. Upholding his commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, CM Yogi is turning the dream of poor children becoming officers into reality. By taking advantage of the free coaching facility provided under this scheme, 46 candidates have successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams and become officers, while 121 candidates have passed the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPCS) exams to secure government positions. Since the scheme’s inception, 82,209 candidates have been trained at 156 centers across 75 districts in the state, with nearly 700 candidates succeeding in various competitive exams.

The ‘Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana’ was launched on February 16, 2021, on the occasion of Basant Panchami by CM Yogi. The scheme is a significant initiative aimed at empowering children from poor and marginalized families and integrating them into the mainstream. It has quickly gained popularity among aspirants preparing for competitive exams, providing free coaching, high-quality education, and all the necessary resources for exam preparation. The scheme is driving students towards a bright future and inspiring them to become self-reliant.

Free Coaching Operates Across 75 Districts

The scheme is successfully being implemented across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with around 156 centers in operation. A dedicated Abhyudaya Secretariat in Lucknow monitors the program’s implementation to ensure effective management. The largest number of centers is in Lucknow (11), followed by Kaushambi (6), Gorakhpur (5), Varanasi (4), and Bahraich (4). Pawan Kumar Yadav, the scheme’s co-incharge, reported that over 82,209 aspirants have received training under this scheme, and the number of students enrolling has steadily increased each year since 2021.

Yearly Enrollment Figures:

  • 2021-22: 6,000 candidates
  • 2022-23: 25,380 candidates
  • 2023-24: 27,634 candidates
  • 2024-25: 23,195 candidates (enrollment ongoing)

Kumar Prashant, Director of the Social Welfare Department, called the scheme a crucial and ambitious initiative by CM Yogi to support students who cannot afford expensive coaching. It offers free coaching for prestigious exams like IAS, IPS, IRS, PCS, JEE, NEET, NDA, and CDS, ensuring that no talented student has to abandon their dreams due to financial barriers.

The scheme provides quality syllabi, question banks, and digital resources to enhance preparation. Additionally, offline classes are arranged as needed, with teachers directly addressing students’ challenges.

Number of Registered Candidates for 2024-25:

  • UPSC/UPPCS: 10,510 candidates
  • NEET: 5,778 candidates
  • JEE: 2,033 candidates
  • NDA/CDS: 816 candidates
  • Other Courses: 4,060 candidates

With 46 candidates already clearing UPSC and 121 clearing UPPCS within three years, the scheme continues to empower aspirants by offering quality education and support.
