KUSUM Solar Plants to be Set Up Soon: DISCOMs Chairperson

Jaipur : DISCOMs Chairperson and Managing Director of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Ms. Arti Dogra, has directed the swift establishment of solar power plants approved under the KUSUM-C scheme. She instructed Jaipur DISCOM officials to complete various required approvals within the specified timeframe, including finalizing power purchase agreements, setting up transmission lines, and installing meters after the awards are issued. An SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) will be prepared at the DISCOM level for this purpose.

The DISCOMs Chairperson was reviewing the progress of these solar plants being set up in the Jaipur DISCOM area on Monday at the Vidyut Bhawan. She sought updates from farmers, developers, and DISCOM engineers regarding the progress and obstacles in setting up the plants. Ms. Dogra instructed the DISCOM engineers to proactively address issues related to other departments that may hinder the installation of solar plants.

The Chairperson emphasized that Component-C of the KUSUM scheme is crucial for providing electricity to farmers for agricultural work during the day. Therefore, it is essential to establish these grid-connected solar projects promptly. During the meeting, developers and farmers informed that they were receiving the necessary support from DISCOMs and assured that they would make extra efforts to establish the solar energy plants as soon as possible.

On this occasion, Director (Technical) Mr. S.S. Nehra, Chief Accounts Controller Mr. A.K. Joshi, Additional Chief Engineer (PPM) Mr. R.K. Sharma, and other senior officials were present.
