Lakhpati Didi Scheme Gives New Wings to Rural Entrepreneurship and Livelihood

Raipur, May 2026 : During Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s visit to Lemru in Korba district under the “Sushasan Tihar” programme, an inspiring story of struggle, determination, and self-reliance came to the forefront.

Chief Minister Sai visited a small food stall run by “Lakhpati Didi” Manju, who is associated with the Rural Livelihood Mission, and enjoyed the spicy golgappas prepared by her. He also interacted warmly with her and listened to her journey of success.

During the interaction, Manju told the Chief Minister that she had started her business on a very small scale. Through savings generated from her golgappa stall and continuous hard work, she gradually expanded into the business of supplying “centering plates” used in construction work.

Despite limited resources, she built her journey through courage, dedication, and self-confidence, emerging as a strong example of women’s empowerment and self-reliance in rural areas.

Chief Minister Sai praised Manju’s efforts and said the state government’s vision is to economically empower rural women and make them self-dependent. He said the “Lakhpati Didi” scheme is becoming a strong foundation for enhancing women’s confidence, dignity, and financial strength across the state.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also handed over an incentive cheque of Rs 30,000 to Manju under the Lakhpati Didi scheme.

Chief Minister Sai said that when hard work receives opportunities and determination gets support, the resulting transformation does not remain limited to one individual alone, but creates a positive impact across the entire village and society.
