Lunglei DLSA and Lunglei Officers’ Club Organize Legal Awareness and Career Guidance Programme at HATIM, Lunglei

October : Today, the Lunglei District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Lunglei Officers’ Club (LOC), and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Higher and Technical Institute Mizoram (HATIM), Lunglei, jointly organized a ‘Legal Awareness cum Career Guidance Programme’ to educate and guide students on legal issues and career prospects.

The event, held at the HATIM Multipurpose Hall, was moderated by Miss R. Lalfamkimi, Assistant Professor at HATIM. HATIM Principal, Mr. Vuansanga Vanchhawng, delivered the welcome address, and LOC Secretary and Lunglei District Transport Officer, Mr. Beitlotha Nohro, also spoke on the occasion.

Three resource persons shared valuable insights during the programme. Lunglei District Additional Public Prosecutor, Ms. Chawngdingpuii Chawngthu, provided information on cybercrime and the Mental Health Care Act of 2017. Major Rebecca L. Chhakchhuak, Lunglei District Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Officer, guided students on career planning, job opportunities, and the importance of developing a disciplined mindset and positive lifestyle. Additionally, Ms. Lalthankimi, a tutor from the Nursing School in Lunglei, discussed mental health.

The event also included a Q&A session, with active participation from the audience. LOC office bearers and executive committee members facilitated the programme. Afterward, students interacted with faculty members, including the HATIM Principal.

Following a similar initiative on September 13, 2024, at Lunglei Government College, LOC plans to continue organizing career awareness programmes at various educational institutions in Lunglei.
