Chandannagar-Ian’s gear up for the commencement of the preparation for Jagadhatri Puja.

As illustrated earlier; as per Hindu Astronomical Almanac (Panjika), Karindrasura – the great elephant-shaped Asura is bound to be dominant, in order to be slayed by Mother Jagadhatri from 07^th. November, 2024. Accordingly, Aurobindo Sangha Jagadhatri Puja Committee had formalised the “Ek-Methe” on 22^nd. October, and letting it to dry until the “Do- Methe” could be performed.  

But, Mother Jagadhatri as the supreme authority had desired to ascertain and scale the “Nishtha in the Bhakti – amongst her Bhaktas” (Summum Bonum in Worship – amongst her Worshippers).

It was a bolt out of the blue – the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had reiterated the landfall of Cyclone DANA from the late evening of 24^th. October, and had also forecasted heavy rainfall along-with gutsy winds from the morning of 24^th. October. But the most ardent worshippers were absolutely reluctant to allow this destructive phenomenon to cause tantrum with their creations.

Waterproofing Heavy Duty Multipurpose Plastic Sheet 500 GSM Black were laid all over making the shelter a tutelage. After the cyclone DANA had made its landfall, a visit to the temporary shelter in the morning of 25^th. October reassured everyone that the worshippers are the epitome of pragmatism.

It is understandably one such moment of catharsis for the entire community, and the organisers & volunteers in particular. Papiya Das who has grown up in front of the worship place nurturing the strong bond with Maa Jagadhatri could only whisper; “Aamader Maa Nirapod – Our Mother is Safe”.
