Public Awareness Campaign Through SWEEP to Increase Voter Turnout in Nanded

Review of District Level SWEEP Room by Municipal Commissioner

Nanded : A massive awareness campaign is being conducted in the 86-Nanded North and 87-Nanded South constituencies to increase voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha by-elections and assembly elections. On this occasion, Nanded Waghala Municipal Commissioner Dr. Mahesh Kumar Doifode reviewed the district-level SWEEP room.

During the meeting, the public awareness program was discussed in the context of the elections. Special attention was given to centers that experienced low turnout in previous elections. Commissioner Dr. Doifode emphasized activities such as door-to-door visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to reach voters, street plays in public places, voting oaths, gatherings of women’s self-help groups, and creating voter awareness through various business and social organizations. He also highlighted the use of auto-rickshaws to spread awareness messages.

Doifode inaugurated selfie points and sound-equipped auto-rickshaws set up on municipal premises. During the event, a plaque for the “I Will Vote” signature campaign was unveiled, attracting participation from many individuals. The officers and employees present agreed to organize various activities, including plans for voting awareness initiatives during the upcoming Diwali festival under the SWEEP program.

Present at the meeting were Municipal Additional Commissioner Girish Kadam, Deputy Commissioner Ajitpal Singh Sandhu, Education Officer Venkatesh Chaudhary, Zilla Parishad Education Officer Ade, Prof. Dr. Ghanshyam Yelane, Superintendent S.R. Pokle, and several others associated with the SWEEP room for the 86-Nanded North and 87-Nanded South constituencies.
