Serchhip : Today, Serchhip SP Pu MS Dawngkima held a meeting at his office with various local organizations in Serchhip to discuss plans for the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. The focus was on creating guidelines to prevent illegal activities such as unlicensed alcohol sales, trafficking, and other prohibited activities in Serchhip District.
SP Pu MS Dawngkima highlighted the Serchhip Police’s commitment to enforcing the law and coordinating with local NGOs to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday season. As part of this effort, the Serchhip Police will place information mikes in all Village Council and YMA Branch areas across Serchhip District to broadcast awareness about the penalties outlined under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) section 164. These penalties include possible detention for up to six months and fines ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
Additionally, online couriers and delivery services will be informed to avoid the transport of prohibited goods within the district.
