Increased Security Measures Ahead of Assembly Elections: Cooperation Requested for Inspections
Mumbai : Security measures have been heightened across Mumbai’s suburban district as the Assembly elections approach, with extensive checks being conducted by both mobile and stationary teams. Authorities have requested public cooperation in the inspection process to ensure smooth and transparent elections.
In total, 28 Model Code of Conduct teams have been established, alongside 211 Rapid Response Teams, 226 Static Surveillance Teams, 172 Video Surveillance Teams, and 65 Video Viewing Teams. Additionally, 105 inspection checkpoints have been set up across the district.
Call for Cooperation in Inspections
The administration urges citizens, business owners, and professionals to carry appropriate documents when transporting materials or funds during the election period. Strict security protocols are in place, and election inspectors are vigilant in their oversight of inspections and seizure operations within the district.
Comprehensive Monitoring by Multiple Agencies
Several agencies, including Income Tax, State and Central GST, Professional Tax, and the Narcotics Control Bureau, are collaborating with police to prevent the misuse of funds, illegal liquor distribution, gift incentives, or any other forms of inducement. Agencies involved also include the Border Security Force, Armed Border Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indian Coast Guard, Railway Protection Force, Department of Posts, Forest Department, Civil Aviation Authority, and State Transport Department, among others. Both the Flying Squad Team (FST) and Static Surveillance Team (SST) are actively monitoring the situation.
The election administration has announced that all vehicles will be rigorously inspected during the election period, with daily reports submitted to the election department.
