Jaipur – Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has stated that women in India and Rajasthan are completely safe. On Wednesday, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani addressed the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held in Sydney, Australia. Devnani spoke on topics such as combating discriminatory laws, the need for year-round activism against gender-based violence, opportunities and challenges of using artificial intelligence in parliamentary processes, and strengthening parliament through best practices and guidelines.
India is Committed to Ending Gender-Based Discrimination – Devnani said that India and Rajasthan are committed to ending gender-based discrimination. To achieve this, each individual’s participation is being ensured in safety schemes for women at the central and state levels. Both governments are making continuous efforts to create a safe environment for women by developing new initiatives in response to evolving circumstances.
Prime Minister’s Women’s Safety Schemes Create an Effective Environment – Devnani stated that the women’s safety schemes by the Prime Minister are creating an effective environment in India, benefiting women. Schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Nari Shakti Vandan Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Jan Dhan Yojana, Mission Shakti, and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana have strengthened and secured women in India. These impactful schemes have been effective in curbing gender-based discrimination and violence.
Combating Discriminatory Laws and the Need for 365 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – Speaker Devnani emphasized the need for nations and states to reinforce their commitment to creating a safe world so that women are not deprived of equality with men, and accountability towards criminals is ensured. All should unite and participate actively to prevent gender-based violence.
Live Broadcast of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Proceedings – Devnani stated that artificial intelligence has provided new opportunities for legislative bodies to streamline routine tasks and analyze complex data. In the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, proceedings are being broadcast live. All legislative processes are being digitized through e-Vidhan, making Assembly operations paperless. This is an innovation for legislative bodies.
