Paddy procurement mega festival begins in Chhattisgarh

Procurement of paddy at support price for Kharif marketing year 2024-25 has started in the state today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today inaugurated the state-wide paddy procurement mega festival from Bhantgaon (B) paddy procurement center in Balod district. Paddy procurement will continue till 31 January 2025. About 55 thousand tonnes of paddy has been procured on the first day today in various districts of the state. Today 14562 farmers have sold paddy. With this, the process of paddy procurement has started. The state government has estimated to purchase 160 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year through 2739 procurement centers.

Food department officials said here today that 27.68 lakh farmers have registered for this Kharif season. This includes 1.42 lakh new farmers. A total of 24 thousand 748 tokens were issued till date.
