Polling Teams Dispatched to Sensitive Areas in Gadchiroli District
304 Polling Officials Airlifted to 76 Polling Stations; Total of 211 Election Teams to Be Deployed via Helicopter
Gadchiroli : In preparation for the general assembly elections scheduled on November 20, the dispatch of polling teams to sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations in the district began today. In the 69-Aheri constituency, 304 polling officials and staff from 76 election teams, along with EVMs and other units, were safely transported to 14 base camps this morning with the help of the Indian Air Force’s MI-17 helicopters.
During the occasion, the election department welcomed the polling teams with a traditional band, garlands, and an auspicious ceremony. In Gadchiroli district, which includes the 67-Armori, 68-Gadchiroli, and 69-Aheri assembly constituencies, polling officials and election materials are being transported via helicopter to 211 out of 972 polling stations between November 17 and 19.
Today, 76 teams were airlifted in Aheri, while 25 teams will be dispatched tomorrow, and 44 on November 19. In Gadchiroli constituency, 13 teams will be deployed on November 18, while in Armori constituency, 39 teams will be dispatched on November 18, and 14 on November 19. The safe deployment of election teams is being carried out under the guidance of District Election Officer Sanjay Daine and District Superintendent of Police Nilotpal.
