Cultural Exchange Enhances Understanding Between India and Japan, Shri Devanani to Reach Jaipur on Wednesday
Jaipur, November 18: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devanani met with India’s Ambassador to Japan, Shri C.B. George, during his visit to Tokyo on Monday. At the Indian Embassy, Shri Devanani engaged in discussions with Ambassador George on various contemporary issues, including India-Japan relations in sectors like semiconductors, technology, automobiles, and tourism. They also deliberated on future investments and exchange programs. Shri George gave Shri Devanani a tour of the Ambassador’s office, where he also met embassy officials.
Shri Devanani discussed topics such as the economic and employment status of Indians in Japan, as well as aspects related to education, society, culture, economy, tourism, and spirituality.
Cultural Exchange Deepens Ties
Speaking at the Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Facilitation Day event at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, Shri Devanani emphasized the role of cultural exchange in enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening the friendship between India and Japan. Despite geographical distances, the historical ties, shared values, and cooperative priorities have deepened the relations between the two nations. Organizations like the Japan Foundation and the Japan-India Association have promoted cultural exchanges through language classes, workshops, and art exhibitions.
Shri Devanani noted that the historical relations between India and Japan date back to the 6th century. These ties are rooted in shared democratic values, human rights, pluralism, open societies, and adherence to the rule of law. In the modern context, India’s “Act East Policy” and Japan’s “Free and Open Indo-Pacific Vision” have fostered strategic alignment and cooperation.
He highlighted the growing presence of the Indian community in Japan, particularly in areas like Nishikasai in Tokyo, emerging as a “Mini India,” with professionals in IT, engineering, and other fields. The establishment of Indian schools and research centers in Japan has further bolstered the relationship.
A documentary on Rajasthan’s tourism and valor, featuring iconic sites like Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kumbhalgarh, and Ranthambore forts, was screened during the event.
Admiration of Nature from Mount Fuji
Shri Vasudev Devanani admired Tokyo’s natural beauty from Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest peak. Located approximately 60 miles west of the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area in central Honshu, Mount Fuji stands at an elevation of 12,388 feet near the Pacific Ocean. Its long volcanic history and height grant it both natural beauty and cultural significance.
Arrival in Jaipur on Wednesday
After completing a four-country tour, Shri Vasudev Devanani is scheduled to arrive in Jaipur on Wednesday evening. He will travel by air from Tokyo to New Delhi and then proceed to Jaipur.
