Successful Clavicle Fracture Surgery at Ratlam Medical College

The Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Rajendra Shukla, has stated that the successful completion of the clavicle fracture surgery at Ratlam Medical College is a significant achievement in the medical field of the state. This surgery not only reflects the growing standard of advanced medical services in government hospitals but also proves that the expertise of our doctors and medical personnel is second to none. He congratulated the medical team on this accomplishment. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla further emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the continuous development of medical infrastructure and the provision of excellent and state-of-the-art services is an ongoing endeavor in the state.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Lakshminarayan Pandey and the orthopedic and interventional pain physician team at Government Medical College, Ratlam, successfully performed the awareness clavicle fracture surgery for the first time. This surgery is special because the patient remained fully conscious during the surgery and continuously communicated with the surgeon and pain physician throughout the procedure.

The team that successfully carried out this complex surgery included Dr. Yogesh Tilkar (Associate Professor) and Dr. Utasav Sharma (Assistant Professor) from the Orthopaedics Department. The surgery was performed under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Shailendra Davor, Head of the Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine Department. During the surgery, interscalene block and superficial cervical plexus block were used with precision, assisted by an ultrasound machine.

Dean, Prof. Dr. Anita Mutha, mentioned that Government Medical College, Ratlam, will soon launch an Advanced Pain Clinic, which will treat complex issues such as chronic cancer pain, spondylosis pain, low back pain, frozen shoulder pain, elbow and knee pain, and hip joint pain.
