Record Sales of about Rs. 5.85 crores observed by stalls put up by Underprivileged Artisans

The stalls put up by underprivileged artisans supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (M/o SJ&E), saw unexpected number of visitors during the entire period and netted record sales of about Rs. 5.85 crores, at the at 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF)-2024, held in New Delhi. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, inaugurated the Ministry Pavilion at Bharat Mandapam, on 15.11.2024.

Participation was witnessed from 18 State/UTs that included Assam, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The range of products on display included readymade garments, handicraft, block printing, zari silk, Chanderi sarees, artificial jewellery, leather items, embroidery, foot wear, woollen items, handmade bags, cane & bamboo, pickles, namkeen, agarbatti & perfume, Rajasthani mojri and toys etc.
