Assam Chief Minister meets Prime Minister
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on December 2 to discuss developmental issues and seek support for Assam’s growth and infrastructure enhancement. The Chief Minister presented traditional Assamese gifts, including a Phulam Gamusa and White Tea, highlighting the state’s cultural heritage.
During the meeting, CM Sharma extended a formal invitation to the Prime Minister to attend two key events in Guwahati scheduled for February 2025: the Assam Investor and Infrastructure Summit and the Mega Jhumur Performance. These events aim to showcase Assam’s potential and celebrate its rich traditions.
After the meeting, CM Sharma expressed his gratitude via Twitter, stating, “I had the privilege to receive Adarniya Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s guidance on developmental matters.” He added, “On behalf of Assam, I invited him to grace the Investor & Infrastructure Summit and Mega Jhumur Performance, and he has kindly accepted.” The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the Prime Minister’s support in furthering Assam’s development aspirations.
