PM Shri School: Government’s initiative to groom the future generation of the country

“We want such education which builds character, increases mental power, expands intellect and enables a person to stand on his own feet.” This statement of India’s great philosopher, thinker and social reformer Swami Vivekananda is relevant even today, because education is the medium through which a person establishes himself and gives direction and condition to his life towards social, economic and moral heights. Taking forward these ideas of Swami Vivekananda, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi implemented PM Shri School Yojana across the country. Apart from quality education, new and modern facilities are being provided in these schools, which include smart classes, hi-tech library, computer lab, subject-wise equipped laboratory, Atal tinkering lab, media corner, clean toilets, attractive playground and safe school campus.

A total of 15 PM Shri schools are operating in the district, which include 09 primary level (class 1st to 5th) and 06 higher secondary level (nursery to class 12th) schools.

The students answered in fluent English :

PM Shri School is running in the Bhanupratappur development block headquarter of the district, where quality education is being imparted to a total of 990 students by 29 teachers. Among these, 672 students of English medium from class 1st to 12th and 318 students of Hindi medium from class 9th to 12th are getting education. Ms. Tanyashree Madhariya, a class 11th Mathematics student of the same school, told in fluent English- “PM Shri School provides us quality education with well equipped library, computer labs, infrastructure and safe surrounded campus…!” Ms. Gungun Thakur, a class 10th student of the same school, told about PM Shri School- “Our teachers are very helpful, they always clear doubts, here also provided clean drinking water and nice playground…! Both the students expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai for the PM Shri School concept and said that the government has provided better facilities to government schools than private schools in PM Shri School. Similarly, students of the school, Ms. Harshita Sori, Kajal Gawade, Aditya Srivastava, Nikhil Pandey, Anukan Verma, Aftab Khan also appreciated the academic and non-academic facilities available in the school.

Two students selected in JEE

The Principal of the institute, Mr. P.R. Bhardwaj told that this school has been selected under the PM Shri scheme, where quality education is being given to children in Hindi and English medium in two shifts. In the last academic session, 75 percent of the students here had achieved success. He told that in the year 2023-24, two students of this school, Kumari Kumkum Dhanendra and Ms. Muskan Baghel have been selected for JEE. Currently, Ms. Kumkum is studying in NIT Raipur and Ms. Muskan is studying in Triple IT Raipur. He also informed that 16 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire school premises from the security point of view. Apart from this, knowledge corner, IT zone etc. have been established.

District Education Officer Mr. Ashok Kumar Patel informed that students are being prepared for competitive examinations under “ Parakh” program with the support of district administration, under which subject experts provide free coaching to prepare students of the school for various competitive examinations including JEE-NEET and practice of filling OMR sheet within the time limit is also provided by taking test examination every week. It is noteworthy that classes from class 1st to 5th are run in PM Shri School of Antagarh of the district. Similarly, PM Shri is running in Government Primary School Uparpara Sarandi. Apart from this, Primary School Bogar and Sanjaypara Bhanupratappur under Bhanupratappur, Primary School Dargahan in Charama, Primary School Balak Kodekurse in Durgukondal, Primary School Kenvatintola under Kanker Block, P.V. 86 under Koylibeda and PM Shri Government Primary School Balak Sarona under Narharpur. Similarly, PM Shri Schools have been established in Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Charaama, Durgukandal, Kanker and Narharpur from nursery to 12th where, on the lines of private schools, high quality education is being imparted by subject expert teachers along with providing modern facilities and resources to the students.
