Review of Women and Child Development Department: State Government Committed to Women Empowerment – Transparent Operations in Anganwadi Centers: CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed the upgrade of facilities at Anganwadi centers, ensuring transparent and accountable operations. He emphasized that officials must ensure that health, nutrition, and empowerment schemes benefit every woman, child, and family so that no one is left behind. The CM also stressed the timely implementation of budget announcements.
Addressing a review meeting of the Women and Child Development Department at the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday, he called for a long-term action plan to eliminate malnutrition, especially in tribal areas. He directed regular reviews and improvements in the nutritional meals provided at Anganwadi centers, annual inspections through a planned calendar, and necessary upgrades. For greater transparency and accountability, CCTV cameras will be installed at these centers.
Education Initiatives and Skill Development
Reviewing the Shiksha Setu Yojana, CM Sharma instructed officials to encourage and reward individuals and organizations reintegrating drop-out girls and women into education. Under the Kaushal Samarthya Yojana, he emphasized creating more opportunities for self-employment for beneficiaries and establishing effective tracking systems for trained youth.
Lado Protsahan Yojana Supporting Girls’ Education
Highlighting the importance of the Lado Protsahan Yojana, the CM noted that the government provides ₹1 lakh from birth to graduation for girls. Soon, ₹2,500 will be transferred to 1 lakh beneficiaries under this scheme. Additionally, about 70,000 beneficiaries will receive an increased incentive of ₹1,500 under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.
Milk Distribution Scheme in Anganwadis
The CM announced the launch of the Mukhyamantri Amrit Aahar (Milk Distribution Scheme), under which children in Anganwadis will receive milk three days a week. The government has allocated ₹200 crore for this initiative and will also inaugurate model Anganwadi centers in each block.
Women’s Safety and Training Initiatives
The CM instructed officials to organize orientation workshops for Anganwadi workers to train them in innovative and modern techniques. He also called for an increase in the number of women’s safety and counseling centers, which have already assisted over 24,000 cases of domestic and societal violence.
Commitment to Women and Child Welfare
Reaffirming the state government’s dedication to holistic development, CM Sharma said the government is guided by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s vision of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya. “Women and children are vital to society, and we will leave no stone unturned for their welfare,” he added.
The meeting was attended by Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Dr. Manju Baghmar, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary Alok Gupta, and Secretary of Women and Child Development Mahendra Soni, among other senior officials.
