Applications Invited for Crop Competition Rabi Season 2024 Until December 31
Mumbai : The Agriculture Department has invited applications for the Crop Competition under Rabi Season 2024, to be submitted by December 31.
To enhance crop productivity in the state, farmers across different regions conduct various experiments to improve yields. Recognizing and encouraging such innovative farmers for their achievements boosts their morale and inspires them to adopt modern technologies with greater enthusiasm. This initiative contributes to agricultural production while guiding neighboring farmers, ultimately increasing the state’s overall agricultural output. With this objective, the State-Level Crop Competition Scheme is being implemented.
Like previous years, the competition will be conducted at the taluka, district, and state levels. For the Rabi Season 2024, the Agriculture Department will organize crop competitions for five crops: sorghum, wheat, chickpea, safflower, and linseed, in general and tribal categories.
Eligible Crops for Competition (Rabi Season):
- Sorghum, Wheat, Chickpea, Safflower, and Linseed (total 5 crops).
Eligibility Criteria:
- The participating farmer must own and cultivate the land under their name.
- Farmers can participate with more than one crop.
- The crop area on the farmer’s field should be at least 40 R (approximately one acre) under continuous cultivation.
Farmers must submit the prescribed application form (Form-A), proof of entry fee payment, copies of 7/12 and 8-A land records, caste certificate (for tribal farmers), and a marked map of the declared crop area along with their application.
The last date to apply for the Rabi Season Crop Competition for sorghum, wheat, chickpea, safflower, and linseed is December 31. Winners will be selected at taluka, district, and state levels in first, second, and third positions.

- Tribal category: ₹150

2nd Prize: ₹3,000
3rd Prize: ₹2,000 - District Level:
1st Prize: ₹10,000
2nd Prize: ₹7,000
3rd Prize: ₹5,000 - State Level:
1st Prize: ₹50,000
2nd Prize: ₹40,000
3rd Prize: ₹30,000
The Agriculture Department encourages maximum participation from farmers to improve productivity and expand crop areas under these specified crops.
