Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations for Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Camps

Jaipur : The Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Mrs. Gayatri Rathore, emphasized that ensuring accessible health services across villages is a top priority of the state government. With this vision, the state government is launching “Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Camps” across Rajasthan to mark the government’s first anniversary. She stated that this ambitious health initiative should be implemented with better coordination and commitment.
Mrs. Rathore was reviewing the preparations for the Ayushman Arogya Camps and other related matters during a meeting held at Swasthya Bhavan on Friday. She stressed that the success of these camps depends on seamless coordination among departments and timely arrangements. The Medical Education Department was directed to ensure the availability of specialist doctors for follow-up and referral camps, super-specialty consultations, and teleconsultation services. Additionally, arrangements for cancer screening must also be made. The Ayurveda Department was instructed to provide AYUSH practitioners and medicines.
The Principal Secretary highlighted that Anganwadi workers and helpers should disseminate information about these camps to the public and motivate them to participate in health checkups. She urged the Panchayati Raj and Revenue Departments to cooperate in spreading awareness about the camps, while the Education Department was asked to increase awareness through rallies and other activities. The Social Justice and Empowerment Department was instructed to assist persons with disabilities in obtaining UDID certificates.
Mrs. Rathore directed medical department officials to conduct regular reviews of the camps and ensure that all necessary arrangements for testing and treatment are in place at the camp sites. She emphasized that there should be no gaps at any level and that the public should fully benefit from these health programs.
Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Mrs. Bharti Dixit, stated that detailed guidelines have been issued for the camps and should be followed meticulously. Commissioner of Medical Education, Mr. Iqbal Khan, suggested promoting awareness about the “Eat Right Campaign” and encouraging the use of millets (Shri Anna) during the camps. He also advised conducting food testing, licensing, and registration for food vendors through mobile food testing labs.
Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, Mrs. Priyanka Goswami, emphasized prioritizing Ayushman card distribution and e-KYC during the camps. IEC Director Mr. Shaheen Ali Khan announced that blood donation camps will also be organized across the state on December 15, with preparations already underway in all districts. Public Health Director Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur mentioned that the operational readiness of medical facilities scheduled for inauguration on the state government’s first anniversary should be ensured. Additional Director of Hospital Administration, Dr. Sushil Parmar, provided detailed information regarding the organization of the camps.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Camps will be held from December 15 to January 31 at all Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the state. These camps will provide diagnosis and treatment through both allopathy and AYUSH systems of medicine. Teleconsultation with specialist doctors will also be available as needed. Services include antenatal checkups for pregnant women, immunization for children, and screening for non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, common cancers, and blindness. Patients requiring advanced care will be transported to higher medical facilities via ambulances. A total of 37 types of tests will be available free of charge at these camps. For quality and comprehensive care, follow-up camps will be organized at Panchayat Samiti headquarters and referral camps at the district level.
The meeting, held via video conferencing, was attended by senior officials from departments such as Women and Child Development, RCH, Ayurveda, Education, Panchayati Raj, Revenue, and Health, along with district-level nodal officers for Ayushman Arogya Camps, principals of all medical colleges, zonal joint directors, CMHOs, PMOs, and district-level officers from various departments.
