Sanjay Singh’s Employment March Draws Massive Crowds Across Western UP

Delhi, May 2026: The “Rozgar Do, Samajik Nyay Do” (Give Employment, Give Social Justice) march, which began from the historic city of Meerut on May 16, concluded today at Ambedkar Park in Ghaziabad amid massive public participation and support. However, the public sentiment generated by the five-day march is now being seen as the beginning of a larger political shift across Uttar Pradesh.

The scenes witnessed on the roads of western Uttar Pradesh during the march made it clear that people are no longer satisfied with speeches and promises alone—they are now demanding answers. Young people were seen carrying degrees but struggling without jobs. Farmers spoke of hard work without dignity or fair returns. Shiksha Mitras, ASHA workers, employees, small traders, and economically weaker families all raised the same concern: how long will ordinary citizens continue to struggle while those in power keep making promises?

One of the most notable aspects of the march was the constant presence of Sanjay Singh, Rajya Sabha MP and Uttar Pradesh in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party. Throughout the journey, he remained among the people rather than appearing distant behind heavy security or political formality. Moving through villages, streets, and local communities, he listened to public grievances, interacted with unemployed youth, and assured people that their fight would be raised from the streets to Parliament.

The enthusiastic response from people across western Uttar Pradesh reflected a growing preference for leaders who remain connected with the public beyond election campaigns. Residents welcomed Singh warmly at multiple locations, indicating that voters are increasingly valuing direct engagement and accountability.

Throughout the march, a common demand echoed everywhere—employment opportunities, social justice, an end to paper leaks, and accountability for recruitment scams. Many young participants expressed frustration over repeated examination paper leaks and corruption that they said had destroyed years of hard work and preparation. Despite their disappointment, the youth participation in the march remained energetic and determined.

The march also witnessed frequent discussions around the governance model implemented by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab. Many participants said that if government schools can improve, hospitals can provide free treatment, corruption can be tackled, and relief can be offered in electricity and water services elsewhere, then similar changes should also be possible in Uttar Pradesh.

Observers noted that people are now comparing governance models more closely and focusing increasingly on visible work rather than political slogans. As a result, the march has sparked a fresh political debate in western Uttar Pradesh regarding employment, governance, welfare, and accountability.

The emerging public mood suggests that the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections may move beyond traditional political narratives and become centred around issues such as employment, education, healthcare, women’s safety, farmers’ welfare, and social justice. Many participants indicated that voters are now thinking more about their children’s future and economic opportunities rather than older divisions based on caste and religion.

Although the march formally concluded in Ghaziabad on Tuesday, organisers and supporters believe that the message it carried will continue to resonate across the state. The large turnout and emotional public response have signalled growing political engagement among ordinary citizens in western Uttar Pradesh.

Supporters of the march said the public has sent a clear message that politics based on fear, rhetoric, and empty promises may no longer be enough. According to them, people are increasingly looking for leadership that understands public struggles, remains accessible, and delivers visible results on the ground.
