CM Bhupendra Patel Performs Bhoomi Pujan for Welspun Group’s New Textile ‘Integrated Bed Linen and Terry Towel Project’ in Anjar, Kutch
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel graced the Bhoomi Pujan Ceremony for Welspun Group’s innovative textile project, ‘Integrated Bed Linen and Terry Towel,’ and the Welspun Group Excellence Award ceremony, held at Anjar, Kutch. Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput and Minister of State for Home Shri Harsh Sanghvi were also present.
Addressing the Occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel urged every citizen to make this Amrit Kaal a Kartavya Kaal (Period of Duty) by contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat through a Viksit Gujarat. The CM mentioned that the next 25 years of Kartavya Kaal offer a unique opportunity to help build a Viksit Bharat. Referencing the Prime Minister’s words, “Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai,” the Chief Minister emphasised that now, after independence, is the right time to work towards making India a leading developed nation. The Chief Minister also urged everyone to fulfil their responsibility towards the nation by engaging in socially beneficial activities such as cleanliness, environmental preservation, saving electricity, and conserving water.
The Prime Minister’s vision has led to unprecedented development in Kutch. Reflecting on the Prime Minister’s decision to bring the Rann Utsav to global prominence, the Chief Minister mentioned that, thanks to the Prime Minister’s foresight and special affection for Kutch, Dhordo has been named the best tourism village. Additionally, Smritivan, built in memory of the earthquake victims, has received UNESCO’s award for best interior design. The Chief Minister expressed his happiness over these achievements and credited them to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister further observed that India is experiencing holistic development across various sectors today. Every sector is benefiting from the foresight of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Whether in green energy or semiconductors, India has emerged as a global leader. Praising the industrial growth in Kutch, the Chief Minister noted that the future of Kutch is bright, particularly with the ongoing green energy projects. He also commended the Welspun Group’s commitment to family spirit through women’s employment and their corporate social responsibility efforts.
On this occasion, Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput remarked that the Kutch district has achieved significant milestones under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He conveyed confidence that the Welspun Group will play a crucial role in realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat. The Industries Minister further noted that the textile policy, crafted under the Prime Minister’s vision and the Chief Minister’s guidance, will serve as an inspiration for other states in the country. He described the Gujarat Government’s initiative to prioritize women’s employment through the textile policy as a revolutionary step by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
During the event, Welspun Group Chairman Shri B.K. Goenka welcomed the Chief Minister and shared that the “Integrated Bed Linen and Terry Towel” project, launched today, will place the Indian textile industry on the global stage. He mentioned that this new venture is set to become the world’s largest towel-manufacturing facility within the next 18 months. Shri Goenka credited the comprehensive development of Kutch, including the Welspun Group’s growth, to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government of Gujarat. He commended the approach of creating new employment opportunities for women through the textile policy and highlighted the Welspun Group’s success story from Anjar to the USA, appreciating the support provided by the Gujarat Government.
The Chief Minister presented Excellence Awards in categories such as Best Manufacturing Facility, Emerging Company, Emerging Leader, Best Company, and the G.R. Goenka Leadership Award to the companies and executives of the Welspun Group for their exceptional performance. During his visit to Anjar, the Chief Minister toured the state-of-the-art Welspun textile plant and observed the production process.
