Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Unveils the New Website of Maharashtra Cow Service Commission

Nagpur – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today unveiled the new website of the Maharashtra Cow Service Commission at www.mahagosevaayog.org, which was established to promote the conservation of cattle in the state.

The website was unveiled in the Committee Hall of the Legislature building. The Cow Service Commission has been established to conserve, protect, and promote the welfare of indigenous cattle breeds in the state and to supervise the institutions working toward this cause.

The Commission’s President, Shekhar Mundada, provided information that there are 1 crore 39 lakh cattle in the state, out of which 13 lakh are indigenous cows. Under the ‘Go Ten’ initiative, work is being carried out through cow rearing, cow conservation, cow protection, cow dung value addition, cowsheds, cow protectors, cow herders, cow-based farming, cow literacy, and cow tourism. He also mentioned that special dairies will be set up for indigenous cows in the state.

The Commission ensures the conservation, protection, and welfare of indigenous cattle breeds and supervises the institutions working toward this goal. It includes the registration of cowsheds, gosadans (cow shelters), panjrapole (animal shelters), and cattle organizations, the implementation of the Govardhan Cow Service Center Scheme and other initiatives, the operation of animal health services, and ensuring the management, care, and treatment of weak, aged, and diseased animals. Training and awareness programs are being conducted for individuals taking care of the animals, and this information has been made public through the website. For the general public and institutions working for cattle conservation, all information is now available at a single click through this website.

On the occasion of the website’s unveiling, State Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Commission members Sanjay Bhosale, Dr. Nitin Markandey, Uddhav Nerkar, Sunil Suryavanshi, Sanat Kumar Gupta, and Deepak Bhagat were present.
