Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Directs Acceleration of Rescue Operations in Mumbai Boat Accident
Nagpur : A passenger boat sank this evening near the Elephanta area in Mumbai. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reviewed the rescue operation updates with the district collectors of Mumbai City and Raigad. He directed the authorities to expedite the rescue operations with the assistance of the Navy, JNPT, Coast Guard, and local fishing boats, ensuring that all passengers are safely rescued.
Upon receiving information about the ferry boat accident near Elephanta, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde contacted Raigad District Collector Kisan Jawale and Mumbai City District Collector Sanjay Yadav via phone to obtain details about the ongoing rescue efforts. He also spoke with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ports) Sudhakar Pathare to gather further updates.
