Various Courses Begin at Bharat Ratna Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar International Music College

Online Applications Invited Until January 11, 2025

Mumbai : Various courses in the field of music have been introduced through the Bharat Ratna Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar International Music College. For the academic year 2024-25, online applications can be submitted from December 23, 2024, to January 11, 2025, as per a press release by the Acting Principal of the College, Dr. G.L. Tartare. Applications can be submitted on the website www.doa.maharashtra.gov.in or via the link https://doaonline.Co.in/LDMIC/.

To ensure the quality and utility of the courses offered at the college, a high-level advisory board has been established. Usha Mangeshkar serves as the Chairperson, with Suresh Wadkar and Adinath Mangeshkar as members, Mayuresh Pai as the Coordinator, and Santosh Kshirsagar, Director of the Directorate of Art, as the Member Secretary.

Courses Offered at the College:

  • Certificate courses in Hindustani Classical Music
  • Indian Flute Playing
  • Tabla Playing
  • Sitar Playing
  • Piano/Keyboard Certificate Course
  • Certificate Course in Music Production and Sound Engineering

Each course has a maximum intake capacity of 25 students. The duration of these courses is one year, with an annual fee of ₹5,400. Additionally, a six-month Bhav Sangeet (Expressive Music) certificate course will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays under the guidance of Salil Kulkarni, with a capacity of 50 students and a course fee of ₹20,000.

The certificate courses at the Bharat Ratna Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar International Music College will initially be conducted at P.L. Deshpande Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, starting February 2025.
