Nagpur : Maharashtra aims to be the number one state in all sectors while contributing significantly to a developed India. Over the past two and a half years, the transformation of Maharashtra has begun, and now our united mission is a prosperous Maharashtra. We will drive Maharashtra towards the path of development at triple the speed. Maharashtra will not stop now, assured Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Legislative Council.
While responding to the discussion on the Governor’s address, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde said, “Over the past two and a half years, the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) government has accomplished historic development and welfare schemes. We achieved record-breaking progress during this period. Without taking a single day off, we worked tirelessly, leading to a historic outcome in the state’s elections.”
Commitment to Dynamic and Citizen-Centric Governance
“We worked as a team over the last two and a half years, which is why our government has become the people’s favorite. The people’s trust has increased our responsibility. Now, we pledge to provide faster and more citizen-focused governance. As Chief Minister, my policy was always rapid development, and I never allowed partisanship or hatred to take root,” said Shinde.
Increasing the Development Strike Rate
“The Mahayuti government achieved the highest development strike rate in the country over the past two and a half years, and this rate will only continue to increase. To make Maharashtra the number one state in India, we have been working 24/7 and will continue to do so,” the Deputy Chief Minister assured.
Concrete Steps for Vidarbha’s Development
Speaking about Vidarbha, Shinde said, “I have a special bond with Vidarbha because of its loving people. As Chief Minister, I was glad to contribute significantly to Vidarbha’s development. In the past two sessions, we have taken concrete steps for Vidarbha, and their positive outcomes are becoming visible. We are extending the Samruddhi Expressway to Gondia, Bhandara, and Gadchiroli. During my first session as Chief Minister, I announced a bonus of ₹15,000 per hectare for 5 lakh paddy farmers in Vidarbha, which we have now increased to ₹20,000. Vidarbha is also being developed as a logistics hub.”
“For industrial growth in Vidarbha and Marathwada, projects worth ₹70,000 crore have been approved. Two new projects in Surjagad began during my tenure. In the past two and a half years, we held 86 cabinet meetings and took 850 significant decisions. Listing all the small and big decisions would require more than one session,” he added.
Progressive Maharashtra
“In the last two and a half years, Maharashtra implemented welfare schemes and achieved record-breaking development. Maharashtra leads in foreign investment, women’s empowerment, GST collection, and industrial growth. We are the first state to provide ₹5 lakh health insurance, free electricity to farmers, stipends to 10 lakh youth, and the longest marine bridge in the country. Maharashtra also boasts the largest metro network,” Shinde highlighted.
Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹10 Lakh Crore
“Maharashtra has initiated infrastructure projects worth ₹10 lakh crore, maintaining its top rank. We are constructing metro lines spanning 450 kilometers in Mumbai, MMR, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur. A new greenfield expressway from Shirur to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has been approved. Projects like the Pune Ring Road and the Alibaug-Virar multimodal corridor are progressing rapidly. We are also building 7,000 kilometers of access-controlled roads, ensuring travel across the state takes no longer than 7-8 hours,” he explained.
Uninterrupted Benefits for Eligible Sisters
“Under the Chief Minister’s ‘Majhi Ladki Bhagin’ scheme, we provided five installments to 2.34 crore sisters, and this support will continue. We have allocated ₹1,400 crore in the supplementary budget. Not a single eligible sister will lose their benefits, as this is my promise. We also launched the Chief Minister Annapurna Yojana, providing three free LPG cylinders per year to 89 lakh families. The Chief Minister Lek Ladki Yojana has benefitted 34,000 people, while over 3.5 lakh girls have availed free professional education. The Chief Minister Yuva Kaushalya Training Scheme has supported over 1.25 lakh youths. For senior citizens, we started the Chief Minister Vayoshree Yojana, distributing ₹123 crore in grants, benefitting 4.25 lakh individuals,” he elaborated.
Pilgrimage Scheme and Free Travel for Seniors
“The Chief Minister Tirth Darshan Yojana has begun special pilgrimages from cities like Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, and nine other locations. Over 6,000 senior citizens have benefitted so far. Free travel for senior citizens in ST buses is also helping lakhs of rural residents,” Shinde said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has charted a roadmap to make India a global superpower, and we are working towards making Maharashtra the top state in every sector. A developed Maharashtra will significantly contribute to a developed India. With strong support from Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, I am confident we will achieve this. Our united mission now is Prosperous Maharashtra. We will take Maharashtra forward on the path of development at triple the speed,” concluded Deputy Chief Minister Shinde.
