Appeal to Beekeepers to Register on the MadhuKranti Portal
Mumbai : The Director of the Maharashtra State Horticulture and Medicinal Plants Board, Kisan Mule, has issued a press release appealing to beekeepers to register on the MadhuKranti portal developed under the National Bee Board, New Delhi, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. The portal, accessible at https://madhukranti.in/nbb, has been created to identify proper sources of honey and related bee products and maintain updated records.
In the state, the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission, a centrally sponsored scheme, is being implemented. In this regard, the Maharashtra State Horticulture and Medicinal Plants Board in Pune has been recognized by the central government as the state-level implementing agency for the mission. Under this mission, sub-missions 1, 2, and 3 are included, with various activities being conducted under them.
Benefits for Beekeepers from the MadhuKranti Portal
Beekeepers registered on the MadhuKranti portal will receive several benefits. These include recognition as a registered/approved beekeeper and access to free insurance coverage of up to ₹1 lakh. Additionally, hassle-free migration of bee colonies will be possible.
Documents Required for Registration on the MadhuKranti Portal
The following documents are mandatory for registration:
- Aadhaar Card
- Updated mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card
- Details related to beekeeping
- Soft copy of the beekeeping training certificate (size up to 200 KB)
- Photograph of the beekeeper with the beekeeping boxes (size up to 100 KB)
Registration Fees
Registration can only be done online. The registration fee based on the number of bee frames in self-owned beekeeping boxes is as follows:
- ₹250 for 10 to 100 frames
- ₹500 for 101 to 250 frames
- ₹1,000 for 251 to 500 frames
- ₹2,000 for 501 to 1,000 frames
- ₹10,000 for 1,001 to 2,000 frames
- ₹25,000 for 2,001 to 5,000 frames
- ₹1 lakh for 5,001 to 10,000 frames
- ₹2 lakh for more than 10,000 frames
