Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai’s treatment started in AIIMS on the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai
The treatment of Mrs. Teejan Bai, Chhattisgarh’s identity and the country’s second highest honour Padma Vibhushan, has started in AIIMS. As soon as Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai came to know about Teejan Bai’s illness, he instructed the Health Department to make arrangements for her proper and better treatment. In this connection, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also visited Teejan Bai to inquire about her health and also provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh. During this time, Health Minister Shri Jaiswal instructed the Health Department to provide motorized remote control automatic bed, bed table and wheel chair for Teejan Bai at her home. Following the instructions, the Health Department has provided these essential items for Teejan Bai. Along with this, a medical officer and a physiotherapist have also been appointed to take care of Teejan Bai. A team of doctors prepares a medical report by examining her health once a day at her home.
It is noteworthy that Mrs. Teejan Bai, who has been awarded with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards, has made Chhattisgarh famous in the country and abroad through Pandavani. Teejan Bai is indeed the identity of Chhattisgarh. In this regard, the state government is also leaving no stone unturned in taking care of Teejan Bai. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai himself keeps taking information about Teejan Bai’s health and as his representative, he has given the full responsibility of taking care of Teejan Bai to Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal.
