Arvind Kejriwal Launch 24/7 Clean Water Initiative in Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar

In a major step towards ensuring clean drinking water for Delhi residents, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated a Booster Pumping Station in the Rajinder Nagar assembly constituency. This initiative is aimed at providing a continuous supply of clean water to the local areas. After the inauguration, Kejriwal, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, visited a residence in Pandav Nagar. The leaders personally tested the water quality by drinking directly from the tap.

Addressing the public, Kejriwal expressed his enthusiasm, declaring, “Today is a big day for Delhi. It has been our dream to provide 24/7 clean drinking water to every household in Delhi. This dream is now a reality in Rajinder Nagar.” He congratulated the residents of Delhi on this significant milestone.

Chief Minister Atishi also hailed this as the beginning of a “water revolution” in the city. She emphasized that under the Swachh Jal Yojana, residents of DDA flats in Pandav Nagar will now receive a 24-hour supply of fresh, clean water. Atishi shared the achievement on social media, reiterating Kejriwal’s dedication to fulfilling promises and his personal commitment to quality assurance.

Apart from the water supply initiative, Kejriwal announced the launch of the Sanjeevani Yojana, a scheme aimed at providing free medical treatment for senior citizens aged 60 and above. Registration for the program has already commenced in the Jangpura assembly constituency. Under this scheme, the Delhi government will cover all treatment costs for senior citizens, whether they visit government or private hospitals.

Additionally, the Mahila Samman Yojana, which provides a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 to women in Delhi, witnessed an overwhelming response, with approximately 2.5 lakh registrations within a few hours of its launch. Both initiatives reflect AAP’s focus on welfare programs ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

The Assembly elections, expected to be held in early 2025, will be a critical test for AAP, which won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections. Kejriwal’s announcements and the inauguration of the Booster Pumping Station come at a strategic time, underlining the party’s commitment to delivering on its promises and addressing core issues like water, health, and welfare.

With the “water revolution” underway and initiatives like the Sanjeevani and Mahila Samman Yojanas gaining traction, AAP aims to solidify its position as the people’s party in Delhi.
