The Development of the Common Man in the State is the Goal – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Thane : “What we give to the country and society is more important than what we receive. The Pudhari newspaper not only delivers news but also does commendable work with social responsibility. This sense of social responsibility was taught to us by Dharmaveer Anand Dighe. Following his teachings, I am working on social welfare as the Chief Minister. The goal of the government is the development of the common man in the state,” said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

He was speaking at the “Pudhari Youth Icon 2024” award ceremony organized at Gadkari Rangayatan on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Pudhari newspaper.

Union Minister Narayan Rane, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MLA Sanjay Kelkar, former Mayor Naresh Mhaske, and Pudhari representatives Tulsidas Bhoite, Vivek Girdhari, and Shashikant Sawant were present at the event.

Chief Minister Shinde stated, “India is the youngest country in the world, and this is our strength, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi often mentions. India is gaining recognition globally. If today’s youth are given proper guidance and encouragement, our nation will be recognized as a developed country. Both the central and state governments are working towards this goal. Recognizing and rewarding good work gives individuals more energy and motivation to do even better. Honoring achievers is the need of the hour to build a strong society.”

He praised the strong leadership of Padma Shri Pratapsingh Jadhav in steering Pudhari towards excellence. The newspaper continues its tradition of honoring outstanding individuals across various fields. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pudhari demonstrated exceptional service, and its channel continues to highlight important social issues and recognize noteworthy achievements. Honoring individuals from different fields is essential for shaping a better society.

The Chief Minister further emphasized that the Union Ministry of Small Industries is creating numerous job opportunities. Through schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Program, Skill Development, and Startups, the state government is making efforts to turn youth into entrepreneurs. With the goal of holistic development and the progress of the common man, the government is working under the vision of “Make in India.” Guided by the Prime Minister, the country is moving towards self-reliance. Youth are being given the right direction, and the state’s economy is progressing to become a global leader. Maharashtra is the “growth engine” of India. The Chief Minister also called on Pudhari to take part in the “Deep Clean Drive” initiative.

Union Minister Narayan Rane also shared his thoughts during the event.

Chief Minister Shinde honored young achievers in the fields of arts, sports, literature, social work, and administration. Among those honored were Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, Thane Zilla Parishad CEO Manuj Jindal, and Panvel Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh. Additionally, Pudhari‘s Thane edition chief representative Dilip Shinde and Raigad edition bureau chief Jayant Dhulp were felicitated by the Chief Minister. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dilip Shinde.
