Youth Should Contribute to Fulfilling the Vision of ‘Developed India’ — Governor

Jaipur : Governor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde urged the youth to actively participate in fulfilling the vision of a ‘Developed India’ by embracing self-employment and self-reliant India in the light of the National Education Policy.

While inaugurating the 59th Devgiri State Conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Latur, Maharashtra, on Thursday, Shri Bagde said that approximately 34% of the country’s GDP is contributed by the youth. He encouraged ABVP to connect youth from various sectors with the spirit of ‘Nation First’ and eliminate the rural-urban divide for the holistic development of the nation.

The Governor emphasized the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas’ to work collectively toward restoring India’s position as a global leader. He added that when the youth dedicate their ideas and energy to the nation’s prosperity, positive outcomes are inevitable.

Shri Bagde reflected on the impact of Macaulay’s alteration of the Indian education system, stating that while India changed its flag on August 15, 1947, a similar transformation in education was needed but unfortunately did not happen. The result of this neglect is still evident today. He highlighted the significance of the 2020 National Education Policy, introduced 34 years after the 1986 policy, which prioritizes Indian values and aims at the holistic development of students while promoting self-employment.

The Governor mentioned the integration of India’s knowledge traditions with modern technologies in the new education policy, urging the youth to dedicate themselves to the nation’s development. Discussing ABVP’s history, he noted that the organization was founded under the initiative of Balraj Madhok Ji to work toward national upliftment and praised the significance of the Devgiri State Conference.
