Mumbai, Konkan Division Voters List Revision Program for Graduate and Teacher Constituencies in Nashik and Mumbai Divisions Announced

Mumbai : The program for the creation of new voters’ lists for the Graduate and Teacher Legislative Council elections, as decided by the Election Commission of India, concluded on December 30, 2023. However, the continuous updation process for voter registration for the Graduate and Teacher Legislative Council elections will continue. Voter names will be added to the final voter list in the form of supplementary lists. However, no corrections or amendments can be made to the voters’ list after the final date for the submission of nomination papers for these elections. If a person’s name is not included in the final voter list published on December 30, 2023, for the constituency, they can still register their name through a prescribed application form, as informed in a press release by the state’s Deputy Chief Election Officer and Under Secretary, M. R. Parkar.

Mr. Parkar stated that the elections for the Graduate Constituency of Mumbai and Konkan, as well as the Teacher Constituency of Mumbai and Nashik, will be held in 2024. The program for creating new voters’ lists was conducted from September 30 to December 30, 2023. Now, the final voter lists have been published.

The number of registered voters in these constituencies for the 2018 elections and the number of voters in the final list for the 2024 elections is as follows (constituency name, total voter registration for the 2018 elections, total voter registration for the 2024 elections):

  • Mumbai Graduate Legislative Council Constituency: 45,735 (2018), 91,120 (2024)
  • Konkan Division Graduate Legislative Council Constituency: 104,488 (2018), 177,465 (2024)
  • Mumbai Teacher Legislative Council Constituency: 8,722 (2018), 14,558 (2024)
  • Nashik Division Teacher Legislative Council Constituency: 53,892 (2018), 64,802 (2024)

Graduate voters can apply for voter registration online or offline using application form No. 18. The link for online application is as follows: https://gterollregistration.mahait.org/. Eligible teacher voters whose names are not included in the voters’ list can apply offline using application form No. 19 through their educational institution. The applications will be available at the office of the Divisional Commissioner (the voter registration officer for this election), the concerned District Collector (the voter registration officer for this election), the officers designated by the Divisional Commissioner, as well as at the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer and Tehsildar. Properly filled applications can be submitted at these offices. Similarly, the forms are also available on the official website of the Chief Election Officer, Maharashtra State, at https://ceo.maharashtra.gov.in under Downloads/DownloadForms/Form-18.pdf, Downloads/DownloadForms/Form-19.pdf, and Downloads/DownloadForms/Certificate-Form-19.pdf, as mentioned by Deputy Chief Election Officer Mr. Parkar.
