18 Killed, Including 3 Children, in Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza Strip.

Gaza: According to Palestinian and hospital officials, at least 18 people, including three children and two senior officers of the Hamas-run police force, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Thursday. One strike on Thursday morning targeted a tent in the humanitarian zone of Muwasi, declared by Israel, where hundreds of thousands of displaced people were taking shelter in the cold and rainy weather. Another strike in central Gaza Strip killed at least eight Palestinians.

According to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which received the bodies, the deceased were members of local committees assisting in securing aid convoys. An Associated Press reporter at the hospital confirmed the death toll. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the strikes.

The war began with a Hamas-led militant attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping approximately 250 individuals.

Around 100 hostages remain in Gaza, with at least one-third feared dead. According to local health officials, over 45,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, with more than half of the deceased reported to be women and children. The officials do not differentiate between civilians and fighters in their count.
