Mahakumbh Nagar : Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Prayagraj has become a confluence of all streams and sects of Sanatan Dharma. After the grand presence of the Akhadas, the revered Shankaracharyas have now graced the Mahakumbh Nagar.

In a significant spiritual event, a grand procession marked the entry of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji of the Jyotishpeeth into the Kumbh region. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of thousands of saints, adding to the divine aura of the Mahakumbh.

Following the grand entry of the Akhadas, the most significant attraction of public faith at the Mahakumbh, the process of entry of Shankaracharyas of all four Peeths has also begun.

A grand procession for Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of the Jyotish Peeth started from Ram Bagh in the city.

The procession, which began from Pattharchatti Ram Bagh, saw thousands of saints, sadhus, and Ved Batuk Brahmacharis from various Akhadas participating.

Leading the procession was the religious flag of the Shankaracharya, followed by a majestic chariot carrying Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, with monks, Mahants, and saints from various monasteries and directions accompanying him.

The grand procession of Shankaracharya brought to life the rich cultural heritage of India. The procession showcased glimpses of folk culture and music from all directions—north, south, east, and west.

Artists from Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka performed traditional dance forms and music, adding to the vibrancy of the event. The local drum bands from South India and Maharashtra captured everyone’s attention.

The Shiva Dhol Band from Maharashtra, with dozens of drums playing together, resonated through the surroundings, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Devotees in the procession also danced joyfully to the rhythm of the Damru dance.

The grand procession was warmly welcomed by the local citizens with flowers at 108 locations across the city. The procession began at Pattharchatti, passing through Malaka, Sabzi Mandi, Moti Mahal Chauraha, Chamelibai Dharmshala, Jansenganj, Chowk Ghantaghar, Bahadur Ganj, and Keetganj, before entering the Kumbh Mela site via the dam road, ultimately reaching the Shankaracharya camp.

Swami Satyanand Giri of Bodh Gaya Math shared that through this event, a message is being conveyed to the public: to unite in the cause of declaring the Cow as the national mother. Posters expressing this commitment were placed on several chariots throughout the procession.
