Greenfield and Brownfield Medical Colleges to Be Developed Under Public-Private Partnership: Chief Minister
Patna, May 2026: Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary today chaired a review meeting of the Health Department at the “Sankalp Hall” located at the Public Service Residence.
During the meeting, Health Department Secretary Shri Kumar Ravi presented an updated status of departmental works and future action plans through a presentation. He provided detailed information on the expansion structure, service delivery, and the current status of under-construction medical colleges and hospitals, along with ongoing efforts to improve health services in the state.
During the review, the Chief Minister said that medical colleges will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in both greenfield and brownfield formats. He directed that unnecessary referrals should be reduced as much as possible and ensured that better treatment is provided at the district and sub-divisional hospitals themselves. He further instructed that this system should be implemented by August 15 in all district and sub-divisional hospitals, and that District Magistrates will be responsible for monitoring it.
He also said that construction of under-construction medical colleges and hospitals should be completed at a faster pace.
The Chief Minister stated that the state is providing accessible, transparent, and high-quality modern healthcare services to the people. Healthcare facilities in rural areas have been significantly improved. The government is committed to further strengthening medical education and treatment facilities within the state itself.
