Tepantor 2025: A Visual Journey Through Passion, Culture, and Emotions
Tepantor – an organisation initiated, by some unacquainted photographers, in the year 2008 with the mission & vision of promoting photography. The response has been encouraging and many leading photographers have joined hands in this endeavour and has contributed their works.
In 2025, they have organised their 13th. “photographic exhibition” showcasing the limitless emotions those which have been captured by the fivesome – Barun Dutta; Subroto Roy Chowdhury; Joydip Mitra; Dilip Kumar Mitra and Annada Mallick; each have ardently encased their subject matter using interesting angles, perspectives, or techniques.
Barun Dutta – Beyond Boundaries:

Barun, an active mountaineer – trailing treks; photography initiated with necessities, eventually transformed into a passion. The most striking of the element of design is the use of Black & White. Barun’s acclaim is in his trailing treks to the Gurez & Tulail Valley, adjacent to the Line Of Control, Pakistan. The inhabitants are Dard – Shin tribes, and they speak the Astori dialect of ‘Shina’ language.
Subroto Roy Chowdhury – Alor Pothojatri (Samaritan Along The Trajectory Of Light):
Since its inception in 1957, the Blind Boys Academy of Ramkrishna Mission, Narendrapur has relentlessly ushered an inspiration amongst the Visibly-Challenged to imbibe the strong value system by specifying their expectations clearly,

holding open-ended conversations on values, appreciating their acts & rewarding their positive actions, and displaying a supportive background with empathic behaviour towards each other.
This philanthropic institution had been conferred with the National Award in 1983, 2010 & 2016. In 2023 it has been rewarded with the State Award; followed by the Governor Excellence Award in 2024. The most coveted RCI Hong Kong Foundation International Award was won in 2024.
The students have adept veracity to contemporary art; aspiring to be the likely futures of Pundit Bhimsen Joshi; Hari Prasad Chaurasia; Maqbul Fida Hussain; Ravi Shankar & Ustad Jakir Hussain.
Joydip Mitra – Drohkal (Malevolence):
Since the 08th. of August, 2024, the day a tricenarian female postgraduate trainee doctor of the R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, was raped and murdered inside the seminar room of her own College Building Campus, triggered outrage across the nation.

Protests called “Women, Reclaim the Night” were held in Kolkata and other cities around India on 14th. August. The goal of the protest has been described as “For Women’s independence on the midnight of independence”, continuing through the country’s Independence Day on 15th. August. It had catapulted on the midnight of 04th. September, when thousands of women across West Bengal marched on the road for the “Reclaim the night” campaign, which was the second such gathering since 14th. August.
Eminent photographer Mr. Jayanta Saha graced the occasion, and reiterated the salient features of Street Photography, Extempore in nature.
Dilip Kumar Mitra – Kashmir In The Eyes Of Shepherds:
“Shepherd of my Soul, I give you full control,
Wherever you may lead, I will follow,
I have made the choice, to listen for your voice,
Wherever you may lead, I will go …………………… “

The writer through his photographic deeds has delved into the tranquillity of Kashmir, being set on an exodus, where he could visualise that: Kashmir is resplendent with Chinar trees that turn the entire valley yellow and red as autumn arrives, silver lakes that turn gold in the light of dawn, and the jewel-blue river that are souls of the ice-cold mountains
Annada Mallick – African Safari:

Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The abundant landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (ENKANGS) of Maasai people.
Its breath-taking wildlife migrations, diverse fauna, unique safari experiences, rich ornithology, cultural depth, and conservation initiatives, stands as one of the most famous places in the world. It’s a destination that transcends expectations, offering a profound connection with the natural world.
With a profound aspiration to visit the place since his childhood, Mr. Annada Mallick managed to cherish his dreams in 2024, when he attained 72.
