‘Chief Minister Assistance Cell’ to Be Established in All District Collector Offices Paperless Process for Medical Aid Applications with a Dedicated Online System
Mumbai : To provide financial assistance to needy patients, the government will establish a ‘Chief Minister Assistance Cell’ in all District Collector offices across the state. During his first tenure as Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis set up the Chief Minister Assistance Fund Cell in the state secretariat to provide essential healthcare and financial aid to those in need. To make this service more accessible, Mr. Fadnavis directed that it be extended to district-level offices. Accordingly, a government resolution has been issued to initiate the assistance cells in all districts.
Patients and their families currently have to visit the secretariat to track the status of their applications. With this decision, they will be able to access information regarding their Chief Minister Assistance Fund applications at their respective district offices, explained Rameshwar Naik, the head of the Chief Minister Assistance Fund Cell.
Under Mr. Fadnavis’s guidance, the fund’s operations are being streamlined and made entirely paperless. The process for obtaining financial assistance for expensive medical treatments will now be conducted online, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit the secretariat. Mr. Naik announced that a dedicated online system is being developed, which will save both time and expenses for applicants.
The Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund provides critical financial aid for treatments of severe illnesses. To ensure the widespread and seamless use of these services, the assistance cells in district offices will:
- Provide the current status of applications and resolve related issues.
- Assist families of patients in filling out applications.
- Follow up on financial aid cases and visit hospitals to meet beneficiaries.
- Conduct awareness campaigns about the assistance cell and its services.
- Review diseases eligible for aid and determine revised financial assistance amounts through a newly formed committee of expert doctors.
By linking the Chief Minister Assistance Fund’s online system (CMRF Portal) with the Charity Hospital Aid Portal, the process will become more integrated and efficient. Application numbers like AO and M will also be unified to streamline operations. This initiative aims to accelerate the process and make it more user-friendly.
The Chief Minister Assistance Fund Cell has already provided life-saving financial support to thousands of patients across the state, offering hope to families dealing with severe and costly illnesses. This initiative is expected to strengthen the state’s healthcare system and make it more people-centric. Mr. Naik urged citizens to take maximum advantage of the services offered through these assistance cells.
