District Annual Plan to Provide Assistance for Women’s Empowerment – Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil
Sangli : Many highly educated women often define their identity as housewives after marriage. However, if these housewives become financially independent, they can build a unique identity in society. With this belief, Guardian Minister of Sangli and Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Chandrakant Patil, assured that funds would be allocated from the district annual plan to empower women in the future.
The Guardian Minister visited the ‘Mini Sars 2025’ exhibition and sales center organized through the District Council to provide a marketplace for products created by women’s self-help groups. During his visit, he expressed his views. Present at the event were MP Vishal Patil, District Collector Dr. Raja Dayanidhi, District Council CEO Tripti Dhomise, Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Commissioner Shubham Gupta, and District Rural Development Project Director Nandini Ghanecker.
Guardian Minister Patil emphasized that women are excelling in every field today. Their contribution to the country’s progress is immense. Women’s empowerment is a top priority for the state government. Over the past year, he has been working with several entrepreneurs to encourage part-time employment opportunities based on women’s skills. Tata Industries responded positively to this initiative and provided employment opportunities for women. This, he believes, will allow women to contribute to managing their households and begin their journey towards financial independence.
Guardian Minister’s Encouragement for Self-Help Groups
At the exhibition, the Guardian Minister visited various stalls featuring products created by women and made direct purchases. To further encourage the self-help groups, he handed over a cash amount of ₹75,000 to District Council CEO Tripti Dhomise. The exhibition features 75 stalls, with ₹1,000 earmarked for each purchase. A total of ₹75,000 was distributed to encourage buying, and the purchased materials will be donated to various childcare homes, as explained by Mrs. Dhomise.
The ‘Mini Sars’ exhibition, organized jointly by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Departments of the Central and State Governments, started on January 23 and will conclude on January 27. This exhibition aims to provide a market for products produced by self-help groups and women working under the Ummed Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission. The exhibition includes 54 stalls displaying unique products made by the self-help groups and 21 stalls featuring food products.
