Science is Proving a Boon for Good Governance: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal, May 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, giving a fresh impetus to technology-driven good governance in Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated the District Drone Unit and launched the Indore Traffic Saathi mobile application in Indore on Sunday. The Chief Minister inducted 18 state-of-the-art high-tech drones into the Indore Police fleet. These drones will serve as the police force’s ‘third eye’, enhancing law and order management, traffic regulation and surveillance capabilities.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, responding to requests from public representatives, announced the opening of three new police stations in Indore. He also stated that the shortage of police personnel would be addressed progressively. The Chief Minister said that the government is recruiting 22,500 personnel annually in the Police Department and that recruitment is underway for nearly all sanctioned posts. He further informed that police bands are being established in every district of the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government stands firmly with the Police Department in maintaining law and order. However, he emphasised that neither unnecessary inconvenience to citizens nor negligence in official duties would be tolerated. He observed that while technology serves public welfare, it also presents challenges and must therefore be used responsibly and effectively. The Chief Minister noted that the concept of drone policing originated in Indore and expressed confidence that it would become a model for others to follow.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting the harmonious blend of Indore’s rich heritage and modern development, said that the state government is advancing on the path of ‘Heritage to Development’. He remarked that the city nurtured by Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar through the values of service, good governance and public welfare has today emerged as a national example of innovation and technological advancement.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the launch of such modern innovations in Indore is a matter of great satisfaction. He described science as a true boon for building a welfare-oriented state through good governance. The Chief Minister reiterated the Madhya Pradesh Government’s commitment to leveraging technology to transform lives, bring positive change to citizens and usher in a new era of public service. He added that modern technologies are playing a crucial role not only in enhancing administrative efficiency but also in delivering better services to citizens.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed confidence that innovations such as the District Drone Unit and Indore Traffic Saathi would strengthen both the police and administrative machinery. He said that these initiatives would provide fresh momentum to governance and make citizen services more accessible and effective.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the initiative as a significant step toward building a smarter and safer Indore and an excellent example of the effective integration of technology and good governance. While the newly inducted drones will assist the police in maintaining law and order, the Traffic Saathi app will prove highly useful for motorists by helping them locate parking facilities more efficiently.

Indore Police Commissioner Shri Santosh Kumar Singh said that 18 drones have been added to the Indore Police fleet. He noted that the police are now equipped to make effective use of these advanced drones for crowd management and surveillance. The drones can cover an area of up to two kilometres and will help monitor not only traffic but also criminal activities. The Police Commissioner informed that the drones have already been deployed successfully for law and order management during the traditional Ger procession on Rang Panchami and at Bhojshala during Basant Panchami. Police Commissioner Shri Singh also stated that the Indore Police have distributed 4,370 helmets free of cost to citizens.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, former Minister and MLA Sushri Usha Thakur, former Minister and MLA Shri Mahendra Hardia, MLA Shri Ramesh Mendola, MLA Smt. Malini Gaur, MLA Shri Madhu Verma, MLA Shri Manoj Patel, MLA Shri Rakesh Shukla, along with other public representatives and citizens, were present on the occasion.
