Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Reviews Indore’s Water Crisis

Bhopal, May 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Indore sunday He conducted a detailed review of the water crisis situation and directed officials to take immediate and effective measures to address the situation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed that water supply be reviewed twice daily, in the morning and evening, through the 24×7 Water Control Room. He directed that a special water supply plan be implemented in water-stressed wards and that relief be provided to affected areas on a priority basis. The Chief Minister directed officials to immediately address inconsistencies and irregularities in tap water supply schedules and ensure equitable distribution of water across all parts of the city.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised the need to pay special attention to water availability in government colleges, hostels, and other residential institutions. He further ordered the launch of a special enforcement drive against water theft and directed strict action against individuals illegally drawing water through motor pumps and other unauthorised means.

Ensure Full Utilisation of Water Storage Facilities

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed officials to ensure the optimum utilisation of the city’s large water storage tanks. He also instructed that both private and municipal corporation water tankers be monitored in real-time.  He directed officials to immediately repair pipeline leakages and reduce distribution losses to prevent water wastage. The Chief Minister noted that a senior officer of the rank of Additional Chief Secretary from Bhopal had previously visited Indore to review the situation and said that such officers would be deputed again if required. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed officials to maintain regular coordination and dialogue with public representatives and citizens’ committees and to continuously provide updates and reports on the water crisis to the Chief Minister’s Office.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Member of Parliament Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLA Shri Golu Shukla, MLA Smt. Malini Gaur, MLA, Shri Madhu Verma, Mayor and Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, along with public representatives and senior administrative officials, were present at the meeting.
