On the Amrit Snan festival of Mauni Amavasya, Yogi government to shower flowers on the devotees

Mahakumbh Nagar : On the sacred occasion of Mauni Amavasya during Mahakumbh 2025, the Yogi government has planned a grand and flowery welcome for devotees on all the ghats.

In a unique gesture, rose petals will be showered from the sky, enhancing the divinity of the Amrit Snan festival. An estimated 10 crore devotees are expected to take the holy Amrit bath on this auspicious day, with the floral showers adding a touch of spiritual fervor and enthusiasm.

To ensure the event’s success, arrangements have been made for 25 quintals of rose petals, with an additional five quintals kept ready to meet the needs of the large gathering.

Krishna Mohan Chaudhary, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Prayagraj Division, stated that the extra petals would allow for more flower showers if required.

VK Singh, the Horticulture in-charge of flower showers at Mahakumbh, shared, “5 to 6 floral showers will be carried out across all ghats throughout the day, from 6:30–7:00 AM. The sight of rose petals cascading from the sky will create an extraordinary visual spectacle, further enhancing the spiritual energy of the event.”

He added, “With petals carefully prepared for each round, this initiative by the Yogi government aims to provide devotees with a divine and unforgettable experience.”

By welcoming them with flower showers, the festival will symbolize honor and reverence, enveloping the atmosphere in religious and spiritual vibrance.
