State proud of its players’ achievements : Governor Shri Patel

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel invited the victorious state team of the fifth National Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament for the Visually Impaired to the Raj Bhavan. During his interaction with the players in the Raj Bhavan’s Billiards Hall, he congratulated them on their remarkable achievement. He expressed that every citizen of the state takes pride in their success. He encouraged the players, commended their dedication, and extended his best wishes for their bright future.

Governor Shri Patel interacted with the team members and discussed their individual performances. He inquired about the team formation, as well as details related to bowling, batting, and fielding. Encouraging the players, he expressed his hope that, just as Indore has brought glory to the state by securing the top position in the country seven times in the Swachhata Survey, their team should also strive to create a new record by consistently winning championships.

Governor Shri Patel was informed by the General Secretary of the Cricket Association for the Blind Madhya Pradesh, Shri Sonu Golkar, that the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) recently organized the National Women’s Tournament in Kochi, Kerala, from January 13 to 18, 2025. A Madhya Pradesh Women’s Blind Cricket Team remained undefeated throughout the total of 19 states participated in the tournament. The team clinched the national title by defeating Karnataka in the final match. He also shared that the MP Women’s Blind Cricket Team was established in 2021, and within a short span, the players have achieved remarkable success, bringing pride to the state.

On this occasion, women players of the team Aarti, Nandini Kalme, Priya Keer, Payal Rawat, Durga Uike, Sunita Sarathe, Renuka Chauhan, Anushka Prajapati, Shilpa Nishad, Karishma Barskar, Sushma Patel, Khushboo Uike, Durga Yevale, Simran Dangode, Diksha Verma, Manager Deepak Pahad and Coach Omprakash Pal were present.
