CM Yogi and Jagadguru Shankaracharya Vidushekhar Bharati perform special havan at Gorakhnath Temple
Gorakhpur : In a significant spiritual event, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Vidushekhar Bharati, along with Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, performed a special havan at the yagyashala of Gorakhnath Temple. The havan was conducted following the sacred traditions of the Sringeri Peeth.
Under their divine presence, 108 recitations of Sundarkand were performed, along with the Anjaneya Havan, invoking blessings for public welfare and national prosperity.
With the blessed guidance and divine orders of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shri Shri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam of Shringeri Sharada Peeth, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam arrived in Gorakhpur on Tuesday (February 11) with Vijay Yatra. After staying at Sannidhanam Gorakshapeeth, he left on Thursday.
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shri Shri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam’s Vijay Yatra reached Gorakshpeeth on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday evening, Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed him with reverence. Following this, Shankaracharya blessed Vedic students and teachers with his spiritual discourse, Shankar Vachan.
On Wednesday night, he performed a special ritual as per the traditions of Shringeri Peeth, in which CM Yogi Adityanath also participated. On Thursday morning, Shankaracharya, accompanied by the Chief Minister, arrived at the Yagyashala of Gorakhnath Temple and took part in the Aanjaneya Havan.
After the ritual, both Jagadguru Shankaracharya and Gorakshpeethadhishwar prayed to Bhagwan Adi Shankaracharya and Guru Gorakhnath for the welfare of the nation and society.
As a mark of respect, Shankaracharya presented CM Yogi Adityanath with two special souvenirs from Shringeri Peeth. After the havan, CM Yogi guided Shankaracharya on a tour of the Gorakhnath Temple premises. Later in the afternoon, Gorakshpeethadhishwar gave him an emotional farewell following the traditions of Gorakshpeeth.
During his stay at Gorakhnath Temple on Thursday morning, CM Yogi Adityanath followed his traditional daily routine. He began his day with prayers and rituals at the temple, offering his respects to Guru Gorakhnath. He then visited the samadhi of his guru, Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath, and paid homage.
Go-seva (cow service) remains an integral part of CM Yogi’s routine whenever he stays at the temple. On Thursday morning, while touring the temple premises, he visited the gaushala (cow shelter), spent some time there, lovingly patted the cows, and fed them jaggery with his own hands. He even played affectionately with a few cows for a while.
As he continued his temple visit, he noticed children accompanying their families among the devotees. With a warm smile, he called them over, affectionately placed his hands on their heads, and showered them with blessings. He interacted with them, asking their names and about their studies, sharing light-hearted moments, and gifting them chocolates.
