Jaipur: Union Minister for Environment & Forests and Alwar MP, Shri Bhupendra Yadav, along with Minister of State for Environment & Forests (Independent Charge), Shri Sanjay Sharma, reviewed the functioning of the Alwar Dairy Producers’ Association in a meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium.

Shri Yadav began the meeting by extending his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma for announcing a new dairy plant in Alwar in the state budget. He reviewed the structure, operations, and milk production of the Alwar Dairy Producers’ Association and emphasized the region’s potential for dairy farming. He stated that Alwar Dairy should be developed as a model dairy to uplift farmers and livestock owners through cooperative prosperity. He outlined five key focus areas, including capacity enhancement, technological upgrades, infrastructure development, personnel training, marketing, and financial support for farmers. Additionally, he directed officials to ensure that benefits from the National Gokul Mission reach farmers effectively.

Proposal to Establish a Veterinary College

Shri Yadav instructed officials to prepare a proposal for setting up a veterinary college under Alwar Saras Dairy, emphasizing that such an institution would provide skill development opportunities for local youth and strengthen the district’s dairy system. He also suggested that, in line with major dairies across the country, Alwar Saras Dairy should expand into related activities beyond milk production.

Preparations for a Farmers’ Fair

The Union Minister directed district administration and dairy management to collaborate with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Agricultural Science Center) in Naugaon to organize a large-scale farmers’ fair. The event would raise awareness about state and central government schemes for farmers and livestock owners. He also announced plans to invite Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma to the event.

Ensuring Benefits of Livestock & Dairy Schemes

Shri Yadav stressed the need for the systematic implementation of government-run animal husbandry and dairy schemes, ensuring that farmers receive their benefits. He highlighted the importance of training livestock owners to increase their income and address animal health issues at an early stage.

Modernizing the Production of Alwar’s Famous Kalakand

He suggested modernizing the production of Alwar’s renowned Kalakand (a traditional Indian sweet), which currently relies heavily on manual labor. Shri Yadav recommended incorporating machinery for more efficient production and urged Saras Dairy to develop a product that could be supplied nationwide. He directed officials to conduct a survey of premium markets and devise a strategic plan for expansion.

Dr. Shruti Bhardwaj, Managing Director of RCDF Ltd., presented a detailed overview of the Alwar Dairy Producers’ Association, its milk collection, production, and capacity expansion plans. She informed the meeting that the Rajasthan government had announced a ₹100 crore budget for setting up a new dairy plant in Alwar with a capacity of 5 lakh liters. Construction of the facility would commence soon.

District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla assured that the directives issued in the meeting would be implemented in coordination with the Dairy Producers’ Association.
